How can I help?
Guardia Planner 1.1 for iPhone and iPad
General
Do I need to create an account?
No. Guardia Planner has no accounts and no sign-up. Open the app and start adding your workplaces and shifts.
Where are my shifts stored?
On your device. If you have Pro and turn on iCloud sync, also in your own iCloud, where only you can see them. The app has no server and the developer doesn’t receive your data. More details in the privacy policy.
What happens if I delete the app or get a new phone?
If you delete the app, the shifts stored on that device are deleted. If you use iCloud sync (Pro), your shifts come back on their own when you reinstall the app with the same Apple Account. Without sync, iPhone backups (in iCloud or on your computer) include app data, so if you move to a new phone by restoring a backup, your shifts come with it.
How do I add a repeating shift?
When you create the shift, choose how it repeats: every week, every 2 weeks or every month, and the date it repeats until. If you later want to delete one, you can delete just that one or that one and all the following ones.
How does the app calculate what I’ll earn?
Each workplace has shift types with their pay (for example 24 h → $13,000). If you add a shift with a length that has no type, the app calculates it with the hourly rate of the closest type. You can also set a custom amount for a one-off shift.
How do I add overtime?
In the shift, add overtime in half-hour steps. The app suggests an hourly rate (the shift’s pay divided by its hours) and you can change it. The shift gets longer in the calendar and the summary shows overtime separately.
Why do amounts show “$”?
The app uses a generic “$” with your country’s number format. It doesn’t convert currencies: enter amounts in the currency you’re paid in.
The app warns me that two shifts overlap. Can I save it anyway?
Yes. The warning is there so you don’t miss a mistake, but you can save it anyway — for example, if you swapped a shift.
I’m not getting reminders before my shifts
Check in Settings → Notifications → Guardia Planner that notifications are allowed. Then check the reminder set for the workplace, and for the shift if you changed it there (30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 12 h or 1 day before).
Does Guardia Planner store patient information?
No. It organizes schedules and pay. It is not a medical device and does not process clinical or patient information.
Guardia Planner Pro
What does Pro include?
iCloud sync across iPhone and iPad (and Mac, once it’s available), the same data on iPad, your shifts in Apple Calendar, and export to PDF and Excel. The monthly and annual plans unlock the same features. Everything else is free, with no limits.
How do I try Pro?
In the app, go to Settings → Guardia Planner Pro → Try 2 weeks free.
How do I cancel my subscription?
From the app’s Settings → Manage subscription, or from iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. If you cancel during the trial, you won’t be charged.
I got a new iPhone or reinstalled the app. How do I get Pro back?
In the app’s Settings, tap Restore purchases. It has to be the same Apple Account you subscribed with.
What happens if Pro expires?
Your data stays on each device. iCloud sync and calendar updates stop and you can’t export, but you can keep using everything else.
iCloud, iPad and Mac
How do I use the app on iPad with the same data?
Turn on Pro and “iCloud sync” in Settings on each device, with the same Apple Account. The iPad app downloads from the same App Store link.
It’s not syncing
Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with the same account on all your devices, and that sync is turned on in the app on each one. Changes can take a few minutes to show up.
Is there a Mac app?
It’s on its way: the Mac app is in Apple’s review and is coming soon, with keyboard shortcuts (⌘ N for a new shift and ⌘ , for Settings). It will download from the same App Store link.
Apple Calendar and export
Where do my shifts show up in Apple Calendar?
In a calendar called “Shifts” that the app creates (“Guardias” if your device is in Spanish, “Plantões” in Portuguese). If it doesn’t show up, check the permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → Guardia Planner.
Does the app read my other calendars?
No. It only writes and updates its own events, in its own calendar. Events don’t include amounts or alarms.
How do I export?
From Summary → share button, or from Settings → Export to PDF and Excel. Choose the period, one or more workplaces and the format. The Excel file is an .xlsx with calculated totals that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
Terms of use: Guardia Planner is governed by Apple’s standard terms (EULA).
Didn’t find the answer?
Write to me and I’ll reply personally. If something isn’t working, tell me which device it happened on (iPhone or iPad) and what you were doing.
